My Summer Play List

A series through the book of Psalms

 

• Psalms are poems/prayers put to music for worship.
• Psalms were written for use in private and public worship.
• The book of Psalms is the most quoted Old Testament book in the New Testament.
• Listen to the significance that Jesus placed upon the Psalms: Luke 24:44
• The Psalms were written by several songwriter:

           King David 70+

          Asaph 10+

          Sons of Korah 10+

          Ezra, Moses, Solomon, Heman and Ethan  

• The Psalms are divided into five books that make up the whole book.

            Book one 1-41

            Book two 42-72

            Book three 73-89

            Book four 90-106

            Book five 107-153

            Psalma14 & 53 are identical.

• There are a lot of stresses and anxieties, and insecurities that can be processed in a healthy way by prayerfully and worshipfully reading through the Psalms.
